Bess Petty of Bird vs Bird

Bess Petty, founder of Bird vs Bird Designs based in Oakland, California, is a one-woman operation from illustration, to graphic design, to product development, to production and sales. All the bird, animal and botanical illustrations featured on Bird vs. Bird products are Bess' original work and reflect her life-long love for nature and birdwatching.

Bess has chosen to highlight many of the birds she has seen in her home territory of Northern California.  The UC Botanical Garden coaster and magnet sets were created by Bess, especially for the Garden, and feature many of the birds often seen by Garden visitors.
