Common name: Chestnut Dioon

Special Notes: Larger close relative of D. angustifolium.  Seeds were processed by indigenous people to remove toxins for consumption. Slow growing, single trunk to 3-6 feet, eventually forming new trunks from the base, dull light green flat leaves, male cones produce musky odor in late evening.
